With this body of work, I document distinct scenes within the communities I am surrounded by, illustrating the visually appealing facets these spaces provide, with careful consideration of formal aspects such as color and composition. Given the available light of my location, I use this to my advantage to convey a multilayered narrative or evoke a personalized set of emotions. I am attentive to the unique range of colors that provide context to these locations and how they relate to our understanding of them as well. I consider the function that these scenes provide for the public and how these factors work collectively to construct a composition that is also visually captivating. By taking into account the conditions of these overlooked environments, viewers can consider how these images relate to our contemporary society and examine how these visual metaphors imply themes that are reflective about oneself and the idea of time. In a world that is considered mundane and uninspiring at times, it is important to acknowledge these instants of admiration and how they allow us to interpret the space around us in a sensible manner.
