Ella Hasty

In this book, I am urging the reader to view time as a ride rather than individual experiences. Pushing the peace that one's relationship with nature can bring while using an accessible visual language, I explore complexly mundane concepts with simplistic line work and patterning.  More than anything, this book is about kindness. It is about kindness to nature, kindness to oneself, and natures kindness towards us. I aim to focus on the inherent good of the world, without leaving out the bad, but rather viewing bad feelings as connecting human experiences. With bright color relationships and swirling images, I explore large themes of the human experience such as one's relationship with nature over time. Playing with organized silly-goosery, I traverse the tenderness and futility of the human experience in regards to a girl's relationship to one place over decades of time. In this book we go on a journey that argues nature and nature’s silence is our greatest teacher, our greatest nurturer.
